In this role Jorge oversees the foundation’s program-related investments (PRI), shaping investment criteria, policy, and strategy to align financial tools with the foundation’s mission. He bridges Inatai’s investment work with its programmatic work, fostering collaboration to develop a thoughtful and sustainable approach to PRI. He is involved in all aspects of the investment process, including financial modeling, sourcing, due diligence, valuation, and portfolio management.
Jorge previously served as a Senior Program Officer at Inatai and cultivated relationships with communities across Washington state to advance the foundation’s grantmaking and program strategies. He oversaw the development and implementation of the Emerging Opportunities and Beyond Washington grantmaking funds, expanding the foundation’s reach and impact. Before joining Inatai, Jorge served as the Executive Director of the Lower Columbia Hispanic Council in Oregon and helped build up its work as a leading power-building organization for Latino communities. While there, he established La Voz de la Comunidad (The Voice of the Community) to create a platform for civic engagement and policy influence. Before his nonprofit career, Jorge worked in the entertainment industry and legal fields before discovering his passion for community work.
Jorge earned a bachelor’s in political science from Bowdoin College. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, learning languages, cinema, and reading history books—believing that understanding the past helps make sense of the present.
